The Strategic Gap
The US supply chain currently relies overwhelmingly on foreign processing for refined nickel products. This dependency exposes American manufacturers to geopolitical leverage and logistics volatility. Critical Minerals Suppliers of America exists to close this gap. We are building a domestic processing capability that functions independently of foreign trade policy shifts.
Addressing this gap requires domestic processing capabilities that can be validated and scaled under real-world operating conditions. CMSA is advancing a phased validation program (Phase 1A/1B), moving from bench-scale definition to continuous pilot operations to de-risk domestic production. This work is intended to establish a credible pathway toward resilient, U.S.-based nickel sulfate production.
We are currently engaging academic and industrial partners to support pilot-scale process validation.
The CMSA Framework
CMSA’s strategy is to compete on process capability rather than trade protection. We are deploying a flexible refining framework designed for the realities of a constrained market:
Impurity Tolerance: Leveraging established hydrometallurgical techniques to evaluate and manage impurity-bearing nickel intermediates that challenge conventional refining pathways.
Customer-Specific Output: Enabling production of battery-grade nickel sulfate suitable for defense and industrial applications, tailored to tight specification windows.
Logistical Certainty: Designed to support shorter-cycle delivery to US manufacturers compared to trans-oceanic supply chains, reducing inventory risk for our partners.
